Just what to do during your stay? We're glad you asked. While you've undoubtedly already planned your stay in the Black Hills, you're likely wondering also about some other filler attractions. We're roughly a twenty minute drive from the famous Mt. Rushmore and ten minutes from Crazy Horse Monument. Within the immediate area, though, there are a few other activities you can take advantage of with the family, your friends, or even enjoy on your own. If you've questions on other ways to fill your time, we are always happy to assist!

Black Hills Balloons

- Hot air balloon tours that typically fly over Custer State Park

Frontier Bicycles

- Rental service for bicycles if you want to follow the famous Mickelson Trail or simply ride around and explore the area.

- "Old Time" black and white photos, complete with costumes and a friendly staff!

Black Hills Playhouse

- Various performances and plays for an evening of entertainment! Located in the beautiful Black Hills Forest

Trail Rides

- Take a ride through the beautiful pine forests of the Black Hills while on horseback as many pioneers had!

Boat Rentals

- Relax for a day of swimming or fishing from a convenient rental boat while you spend an afternoon on one of the Black Hills' beautiful lakes.

Custer State Park

- Visit the beautiful Custer State Park where you can drive through or near herds of Wild Buffalo, see the deer, wild turkey, cougars, mountain lions, pheasants, and many other attractions of wildlife! Swim in some of the beautiful lakes.

Harney Peak

- Hike up the highest point of the US east of the Rocky Mountains and the highest point in the Black Hills! Former firewatch lookout tower. Roughly six miles, start to finish, from the trail head at Sylvan Lake.

Mount Rushmore National Monument

- Just a half hour drive away from visiting the Mount Rushmore National Monument, designed by Gutzem Borglem. The famous four faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln!

Crazy Horse Monument

- You are literally a ten minute drive from the Crazy Horse Monument, a must see in the area!

Flintstones Theme Park!

- Just up the street from the cabins is Bedrock City! There you can enjoy a train ride through the town, explore the buildings built just like you see in the cartoons! A movie theater constantly streaming episodes of the cartoons you grew up with and for your children to enjoy! A playground circled by flintstone car rides! Fun for the kids!

National Museum of Woodcarving

- See some of the most beautiful woodcarvings to be found anywhere!

Four Mile Old West Town

- Take a walk through one of the oldest standing towns in South Dakota!

Jewel Cave

- Witness the underground cave full of beautiful stalactites/stalagmites formed over thousands of years. It is the longest and most structurally complex cave in the world! Tours available year round!

Wind Cave

- Visit Wind Cave for another tour through the intricate underground cave, also the forth largest cave in the world!

Rushmore Cave

- The closest cave near Mount Rushmore! Tour the beautiful depths with your friends and family!

Bear Country

- A drive through theme-park where you will see a variety of wildlife; wolves, cougars, bobcats, mountain lions, and of course bears of many types! Black bears! Brown bears! Grizzly bears!

Reptile Gardens

- Here you will see every kind of reptile imaginable! Take a tour and view exotic snakes and lizards!

Evan's Plunge

- The world's LARGEST indoor pool, fed by fresh mountain springs with natural warm water. Every hour and a half every drop has already been replaced by the constant flow. Located in Hot Springs.

Mammoth Site

- See the remnants of the ancient dwellers of the earth, fossilized in what had once been sinkholes and tar pools. See dinosaurs and mammoths like never before! Also in Hot Springs.

This is our 3rd year in your cabins and each year has been absolutely Terrific. The cabins have been clean and very well equipped each and every time we have been here. I like the fact that we are located so close to all the attractions that we want to see.
